What I think would be really cool is to do something maybe for the lunch time walks not only expats but also all working people take. Have artworks or walks that go along historical buildings or maybe to some good food take away places. this I think speaks to expats but can also be beneficial for the working people who just started working in a new city! Starting off with lunch time specific so an hour of a half an hour but maybe also going beyond that to evenings and weekends. Including art walks is something I have interest in and there a lot of outside statue art in Rotterdam and The Netherlands but also The Netherlands has amazing museums and artists that come from here so could also represent the Netherlands in a very positive way!
although the zine idea fits really well I like the weirdness and spontaneity this idea brings. there are a lot of things that don't work but the action and thought are something that could be included
This zine idea is quite a good formed and could work out quite well but I'm missing the funs of this project and find this quite steel and boring!
I think the go to idea for this would be a website that would be available for expats and accessible trough advertisements! this would be an website specifically made for the phone not exclusively though

After talking with Kimmy, she pointed out that an zien might not be the best name for what I want to make because it's a niche group type thing. So I started thinking of leaflet and newspaper popped in my head. So I'm now gonna try to make a smaal newspaper that is foldable and not. Here is some inspiration I just looked up!

Why do expats need this and the nature routes.

for me the answer will revolve around community and that also lead to the way I will spread this magazine and the activities and weekend walks that are available!
Maybe I should make the lunch walks more community related so people can find a way to connect and walk together.

Notes from our group research into expats that really effected my concept. Covid-19 was also a big part in my project because more people are starting to see the value of going for a walk and how much we need community.

When I Printed out all my sketches I discovered that the coloured images on paper were too distracting and did not give the feel I wanted. So I decided to keep everything black and white and use some images but not all and still have a lot of white space.

All QR-codes and contact information is real except for the website in the first text. This website is meant to be an archive of all past walks and the possible lunch walks.
The website and the seasonal published paper(just like my final version) are both ways this concept will be carried on.

The paper will be in welcoming pack for new expats in The Netherlands and will also be available through social clubs. After my testing results I discovered a lot of expats are not a part of these clubs and thus this is not the best way of reaching out but it does reach some not working expats(such as their stay-at-home partners).
